Manchester City star admits Ligue 1 temptation

Manchester City defender Kolo Toure has admitted he is tempted by the chance to play in France, according to the Daily Mail.

The Ivory Coast international has been on the fringes of the City first-team squad, and struggled to establish himself in Roberto Mancini's plans this season.

And Toure has revealed he could be persuaded to play in Ligue 1, with Paris St Germain and Lille identified as two possible destinations for the out of favour City star.

"Why not France?" said Toure. "There is PSG, Lille and the league is getting stronger."

Carlo Ancelotti's PSG side have invested heavily in their playing squad thanks to their big-spending Qatari owners. Over the summer the Parisians brought in Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Thiago Silva and Ezequiel Lavezzi, and they currently lie top of the Ligue 1 table.

Toure has slipped down the pecking order at Manchester City. The signing of Matija Nastasic from Fiorentina in the summer means Toure sits behind Joleon Lescott, Vincent Kompany and Nastasic in Mancini's first-team plans.

The Ivorian signed from Arsenal in a £16m deal in 2009, joining his brother Yaya. But while the former-Barcelona midfielder has quickly become integral to Mancini's set-up, Kolo Toure has failed to nail down a place in the squad, and he could now be heading for the exit door in January.
