Neymar believes Chelsea playmaker Oscar has the potential to be the best player in the world – and says he can have a greater impact that Cristiano Ronaldo in the Premier League.
Neymar and Oscar have struck up an excellent relationship at international level, something that was clear for all to see during the Olympics as Brazil secured the silver medal.
Oscar secured a move from Internacional to Chelsea over the summer in a deal worth around £25 million and has impressed so far, scoring twice against Juventus on his Champions League debut.
The Brazilian also bagged his only other goal for the Stamford Bridge-based club in Europe, scoring in the 2-1 defeat against Shakhtar Donetsk last month.
Neymar is expected to secure his own path to Europe in the coming years, with Barcelona said to have already agreed a deal to take him to the Nou Camp.
The Santos forward is on the shortlist for the Ballon D’Or alongside the likes of Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Andres Iniesta and Radamel Falcao – but he insists there is only one man who is destined to be the undisputed king of Europe.
“You look at La Liga and they have Messi, Ronaldo, Falcao, Iniesta and many others," he said.
“He is my friend but I don’t speak as a friend when I say Oscar can go on to be a better player for the Premier League than Ronaldo was.
“His technical ability is as good as any player in the world and he can score some great goals.
“He is like Ronaldinho and Rivaldo, a magician on the ball – and even though he has had a good start with Chelsea you have not seen anything yet.
“His game is perfect and he has everything to become the best player in the world in the next two years.”
There has been plenty of speculation in recent weeks over who will be crowned the best player in the world in January, with Messi and Ronaldo leading the way ahead of the current 23-man list being cut down to a three man shortlist.
The ‘Golden Ball’ is handed out in January, with Messi going for a record 4th straight win while Ronaldo is looking for his second crown. Former Chelsea forward Didier Drogba, who left Stamford Bridge over the summer, is also in the running.
