Manchester United have been joined by Juventus in their reported pursuit of Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski, but it will take a significant offer to land him during the transfer window.
Sir Alex Ferguson is reported to have made personal scouting trips to watch Lewandowski while, it is claimed, failed in a €20 million offer to sign the Poland international before Robin van Persie joined Manchester United.
Lewandowski scored 30 goals for Borussia Dortmund in all competitions last season as the German club an historic league and cup double, while the 24-year-old also starred for Poland at Euro 2012.
A report from The Telegraph last month claimed Manchester United were still interested in Lewandowski, despite the summer signing of Van Persie, due to the inconsistent form shown by Javier Hernandez.
But Hernandez has shown of late that he is still an integral member of Ferguson's Manchester United squad, having scored five goals in his last four games for the club.
