A host of Premier League sides, including Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United, are interested in exciting young Swedish defender Hampus Dahlqvist.

The 15-year-old is currently attached to IFK Gotenburg but his agent has revealed Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is set to take him on trial next week.

As well as being watched by scouts out of Old Trafford and Anfield, Dahlqvist is also supposedly being tracked by European clubs Bayern Munich, Ajax and Hamburg.

“Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Ajax and Hamburg,” said agent Anders Karlsson to in response to being asked which sides were after his client.

Despite all this interest, Karlsson insisted Dahlqvist would not be traipsing around Europe to go for trials with all interested parties and claimed a decision would be made fairly quickly.

“But you can not go around to all the clubs, you choose something that feels good,” he added.

The choice is not likely to be an easy one, but the agent’s comments would suggest Arsenal have stolen a march on their Premier League rivals Manchester United and Liverpool by securing a trial for Dahlqvist.

While it may be uncertain as to where the young defender will end up, one thing is for sure: Dahlqvist sees his future in football away from his homeland.

“I do not know, it depends. But I think I want abroad,” he said in reply to being asked where he would prefer to continue his career.
