Manchester United will look to maintain their position at the top of the table in Saturday’s late kick-off against Norwich City.

Sir Alex Ferguson now appears settled with David De Gea in goal, but has option ahead with Chris Smalling back in contention.

The England international is ready to replace Jonny Evans if the centre back is not fit, with Rafael, Rio Ferdinand and Patrice Evra expected to keep their places for the Old Trafford outfit.

Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young are tipped to start in the wide positions, with Nani and Shinji Kagawa out through injury. Michael Carrick and Paul Scholes could be the Manchester United midfield pairing of choice, after Tom Cleverley played for the Three Lions in midweek.

Up-front, Mexican hitman Javier Hernandez seems like a certain starter following his brace against Aston Villa last weekend. Both Robin Van Persie and Wayne Rooney are fitness concerns, but the Dutchman is expected to get the nod ahead of his Red Devils teammate.

Manchester United predicted line-up v Norwich City:

David De Gea; Rafael, Chris Smalling, Rio Ferdinand, Patrice Evra; Antonio Valencia, Michael Carrick, Paul Scholes, Ashley Young; Javier Hernandez, Robin Van Persie.
