Gareth Bale is reportedly ready to force a transfer to Real Madrid after Jose Mourinho made the Tottenham star his top target for the summer transfer window.
Bale has consistently been linked with a switch to Real Madrid or Barcelona over the past few seasons and, it would appear, could be granted a move from Tottenham to the Santiago Bernabeu at the end of the season.
According to Goal.com, Bale is prepared to tell Tottenham bosses that he wants to move to Real Madrid should Mourinho meet Spurs' asking price for the 23-year-old Wales international.
Tottenham would reportedly require Real Madrid to offer at least £50 million for Bale and, if the Spanish giants can stump up such a sum, the winger will ask to leave White Hart Lane.
Bale only signed a new Tottenham contract during the summer but Mourinho is reported to have identified the Welsh star as his top transfer window priority, and is ready to compete with Barcelona to sign him.
Should Bale leave Tottenham for Real Madrid, he would be the second player to leave White Hart Lane for the Santiago Bernabeu in successive summers.
Luka Modric joined Real Madrid for a fee of £33.2 million in August to end one of the longest running transfer sagas in recent memory.
