Liverpool No.10 tipped to return to London in January

New Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp has reportedly identified Liverpool midfielder Joe Cole as a player capable of saving the Hoops from the drop, as the ex-Tottenham boss makes plans for the January transfer window.

Cole has made only three appearances for Liverpool in the Premier League season and the 31-year-old's Anfield career looks likely to end before it ever began in earnest.

Redknapp gave Cole his break as a professional during his time with West Ham and now, according to the Daily Mail, is keen to be reunited with the Liverpool No.10 in January.

Cole joined Liverpool in the summer of 2010 after leaving Chelsea on a free transfer having spent seven years at Stamford Bridge, but injuries and poor form saw the England international endure a poor first season as a Red.

The following summer saw Cole sent out on loan to French champions Lille for the entirety of the season, and there was hope he could establish himself at Liverpool following the appointment of Brendan Rodgers as manager.

Cole, though, has been unable to make the most of his first-team opportunities at Liverpool this term, and his time at Anfield appears to be heading towards its conclusion.
