Liverpool predicted line-up v Southampton: December 1

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers will be looking for just his fourth Premier League win against a Southampton side that returns to Anfield for the first time eight years.

The Reds coach was happy with his team's performances in the midweek clash with Tottenham Hotspur, but after coming away from White Hart Lane with a 2-1 defeat, it's time for the players to start turning possession into goals, and more importantly points.

Lucas Leiva returns to the midfield, which should free-up the creative influences of Steven Gerrard and Joe Allen to help provide more support to Raheem Sterling and Luis Suarez in a Liverpool attack that will be looking to take advantage of the leakiest defence in the Premier League this season.

However, Nigel Adkins - a former Liverpool youth team player - has started to turn around the Saints' fortunes, with Saturday's visitors four games unbeaten heading into the Merseyside encounter.

Predicted Liverpool starting XI:

Reina; Johnson, Agger, Skrtel; Downing; Lucas, Gerrard, Allen, Sterling, Enrique; Suarez.
