Arsenal are ready to respond to their recent slump in form by readying a major January transfer raid, which could see up to four players arrive at the Emirates Stadium according to the Daily Mail.

The Gunners slumped to 10th in the Premier League following their 2-0 defeat against Swansea on Saturday – their third straight league game without a win.

Their recent run of form has prompted fans to question manager Arsene Wenger’s leadership, while the Frenchman has been urged to splash the cash in the winter window to help bolster their push for a top four finish.

While Wenger recently insisted he had no plans for Janaury as yet, the Mail claims Arsenal have been busy preparing to swoop for a host of players across Europe.

Backed by a cash injection from the Gunners’ recently announced £150 million sponsorship deal with Emirates , Wenger is said to be targeting moves for Schalke forward Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina, and Crystal Palace starlet Wilfried Zaha, along with a loan move for Theirry Henry.

Arsenal chief scout Steve Rowley has watched Huntelaar extensively in recent weeks and has recommended him to Wenger , while the Gunners got a close up look at the Dutchman earlier this season as he scored against them twice in two Champions League fixtures against the north London club.

The 29-year-old could be available for a cut-price £6 million as he continues to stall on signing a contract extension with Schalke.

Wenger is also keen on taking £9 million-rated Wilfried Zaha to the Emirates as he continues his search for talented young English players. Despite Arsenal’s interest it is believed his Zaha’s club are unwilling to sell up unitl the end of the season at the earliest and may demand up to £20 million for the new England international.

A new goalkeeper is also on Wenger’s January shopping list, with Liverpool’s Pepe Reina believed to be his main target to provide competition for Wojciech Szczesny and Vito Mannone, while Arsenal legend Henry could also make a short-term loan move for the second year running.
