On a night of high drama, Celtic were all but the last to clinch their place in the Champions League knock-out round - an 82nd minute penalty from Kris Commons enough to book their place in the last-16.

As the back page of one Scottish newspaper said, 'We're with the big Bhoys now.'

Indeed they are. As expected, the progression of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester United and Bayern Munich means football fans across the world can expect to see the best players in the world, on the biggest stage in club football.

There were causalities - defending champions Chelsea dropped out, as did Premier League winners Manchester City.

But, there's plenty to keep us interested.

Although the draw for the next stage is not till late December, GMF looks at the players to watch in the knock-round. There's a few familiar names, but there's a couple to keep your eye on - they could surprise one or two this year.
