Video: Goal-line official practices ‘looking’

Football News

Before any big game, professional players go through their pre-match warm-up to get into perfect condition.

But, it seems that officials go through exactly the same process – even those who simply stand on the goal-line.

The controversial ‘fifth officials’ have never been a big hit with the fans, and with technology being tested for the first time at the FIFA Club World Cup this month, there time in football could be short-lived.

However, Greek official Anastassios Kalos has given supporters a little YouTube gem ahead of the Europa League clash between FC Twente and Helsingborg.

The bald-headed 42-year-old – who shares an interesting resemblance to Howard Webb – took part in some physical activity with a couple of lunges, before getting down to the real business of practicing for a potentially pivotal moment in the match.

Dodging his head to the left, Kalos practices ‘looking’ a couple of times, before deciding he’s ready for the big match.

An absolute gem of a video – check it out below and have your say...
