Bristol City chairman Steve Lansdown has confirmed the club-record deal for Egypt international Emad Meteb is off.

The 25-year-old striker signed a three-year deal with the Robins, completing a £1.5million switch to Ashton Gate from Al Ahly.

However, Meteb turned out for his former club in the Cairo derby against Zamalek against the wishes of his new employees.
