Williams: Rovers appointment imminent

Blackburn chairman John Williams believes the club will be in a position to name their new manager by the end of the week.

Half-a-dozen candidates have been interviewed by Rovers for the position to succeed Mark Hughes, with Paul Ince, Sam Allardyce and Steve McClaren among the contenders.

Williams said: "The process is still on-going and we are on target for the end of this week."
