Former Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp may miss out on a Queens Park Rangers reunion with Michael Dawson after the defender claimed he is happy to remain at Spurs.
Dawson was a summer target for QPR during the reign of Mark Hughes, and the Hoops could now reportedly return for the Spurs star during the January transfer window following the appointment of Redknapp.
The 29-year-old was Spurs captain under Redknapp at White Hart Lane, but has fallen some way down the pecking order since Andre Villas-Boas was named as Tottenham manager.
Villas-Boas signed Jan Vertonghen to improve his defensive options in the summer, and has favoured the combination of William Gallas and Steven Caulker in the centre.
Dawson did, however, make his first Premier League start of the season in the weekend victory over West Ham, and is prepared to stay with Spurs to fight for his place, rather than move to Loftus Road.
"I’m at Tottenham. I’m playing my football and started against West Ham," Dawson said, as reported by The Sun.
"I’m someone who keeps my head down, works hard and when you’re called upon you’ve got to go out there and perform.
"It’s a great feeling to get three points because these fans went through a hard week last week, losing against Arsenal and it hurt the boys."
