Michael Ballack insists that home advantage in the return leg at Stamford Bridge could be decisive in their bid to overcome Liverpool and reach the final of the Champions League.

Liverpool have knocked the Blues out at this stage in two of the last three seasons with the second leg at Anfield but Ballack believes that with home advantage the Londoners can make it third time lucky.

"It is very exciting to be in the semi-final again and we´re looking forward to these games," he said. "They knocked us out twice before and now we want to change that. We have the second leg at home this time which makes it a little bit different from last year and could tip things in our favour."
