King rejects retirement rumours

Football News
Tottenham skipper Ledley King has responded to the whispering campaign about his future by insisting: "I´m not retiring".

The 27-year-old centre-back has played 10 times this season and will not feature in the remaining games of the campaign as he looks to fully recover from his knee problem. Surgery in the last two summers sparked rumours surrounding King´s long-term fitness prospects and he has recently been receiving medical advice on how to deal with the injury.

But he said: "I´m not retiring, let´s put it that way. I´ve read a lot of stories about my situation over the last few weeks but I honestly believe that when I do finally get it all right there won´t be any more problems in the future."
