United they stand

Football News
Manchester United emphasised they are not a one-man team as they secured a place in the semi-finals of the Champions League for a second successive season.

Top scorer Cristiano Ronaldo was rested against Roma on Wednesday but United still managed to secure a 3-0 aggregate win after Carlos Tevez came up with the goods and provided the only goal of the night in the second leg.

And United boss Sir Alex Ferguson insists he never saw it as a risk to drop the 37-goal winger saying: "Having a 2-0 lead against Roma and playing at Old Trafford gave me encouragement and confidence to rest some players. We trust all of our squad because they are good players and they can play in any type of game."
