Footballer drove to training ´drunk´

Norwich midfielder Matthew Pattison drove to his club´s training ground while drunk - four hours after leaving a nightclub - a court heard on Monday.

Police arrested the 21-year-old at 8.30am on March 16 at the club´s training ground after he gave a reading of 74 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35.

After the case, Pattison, in a statement read by his solicitor, Simon Nicholls, said: "I sincerely regret the actions which have led to me coming to court."
