Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp dubbed David James "the Ronaldo of goalkeepers" after the England veteran saved a 62nd-minute penalty from Wigan´s Ryan Taylor in a 2-0 win, courtesy of Jermain Defoe´s double strike.

Defoe set a club record, scoring in five consecutive home games and notching eight in seven, as Pompey warmed up for next Saturday´s FA Cup final clash with West Brom at Wembley.

And Redknapp said: "James is fantastic. Without a top, top keeper you are nothing and he´s the best one around at the moment."
