Kenny Miller struck in the first half to earn Scotland a 1-1 draw against Croatia at Hampden to give new manager George Burley an encouraging start to his tenure.

Portsmouth midfielder Niko Kranjcar´s 25-yard strike after 10 minutes gave the talented visitors the lead but Derby County striker Miller levelled on the half-hour mark when he fired in an angled shot from 12 yards.

Burley´s side were pinned back for most of the second half but came close to grabbing the winner on two occasions through Miller and substitute Kris Boyd.
