Michael Owen is adamant he will put Newcastle´s fight for Barclays Premier League survival ahead of any personal issues.

Reports over the weekend suggested the 28-year-old England striker will be looking for an increase in his £103,000-a-week wage packet if he is to extend his stay on Tyneside.

But he told the Evening Chronicle: "There have been no talks on either side about a new deal and nothing has been mentioned about my contract."
