Newcastle could be heading to China this summer for a high-profile friendly against Tottenham.

Owner Mike Ashley and close friend Paul Kemsley are understood to be in the process of trying to arrange the clash in Beijing ahead of this summer´s Olympic Games.

The plan, which has been run past Barclays Premier League chiefs, is being implemented as the debate on controversial plans to play a 39th round of league games overseas rumbles on.
