Gerrard: Time to deliver

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard is fed up of excuses and wants his team to be competing for the Barclays Premier League title from next season.

The Reds have seen a campaign that started with much promise wither away and now face a battle to secure fourth place, and while the Champions League still offers potential silverware Gerrard concedes even that is not good enough.

He told the LFC Magazine: "In the position we find ourselves now, fourth is the least that is acceptable. But we have bigger ambitions than that."
