Manchester City manager Sven-Goran Eriksson revealed his pride at the performance of both his team and the club´s fans after their first win over bitter rivals United at Old Trafford since 1974.

City completed their first double over United since 1970 with a deserved 2-1 victory while a minute´s silence to mark the 50th anniversary of the Munich air disaster was observed perfectly by both sets of fans prior to kick-off.

"I am extremely proud of our team," said Eriksson. "If you go to Old Trafford and win you deserve it. But everyone who belongs to City, players, officials, must be proud of what our fans did here. Their behaviour was fantastic. And I am extremely honoured to be the club´s manager."
