Birmingham managing director Karren Brady has hit out at leading shareholder Carson Yeung´s attempt to make Steve McManaman and Fan Zhiyi directors of the club.

The Blues are set to hold an extraordinary general meeting on February 20 - the same day as their annual general meeting - at which Yeung will try to convince the shareholders to elect former Liverpool star McManaman and ex-Crystal Palace player Zhiyi on to the board.

Brady, in her Sun column, said: "There is no chance of shareholders, including club co-owners David Sullivan and David Gold and the rest of the board, voting for them. All it is doing is creating an unnecessary stir that we could well do without."
