Boss Mark Hughes reassured wantaway striker Jason Roberts he has a place in his Blackburn plans after his late strike ensured Rovers again left Bolton with all the spoils following a 2-1 victory.

Hughes rejected a transfer request from Roberts before Christmas, and after his muscling run and goal helped Rovers extend their unbeaten league run away to Bolton to eight games, Hughes praised his striker.

Hughes said: "He has been really frustrated with a lack of opportunities but you´ve got to bide your time. At times you have to get your head down and work in training, get fit and then ask questions of the manager - he´s certainly given me food for thought."
