Leicester chairman Milan Mandaric has confirmed the club hope to seal a deal for Derby striker Steve Howard on Monday.

Howard, who has netted just one Premier League goal for the Rams this season and missed a penalty in Sunday´s defeat to Blackburn, could put pen to paper in time to be available for the Foxes´ New Year´s Day clash with QPR.

"We need power up front and Steve Howard is the top drawer on this one. I´m hopeful we can conclude something (on Monday)," Mandaric told BBC Radio Leicester.
