Harry Redknapp denies Portsmouth´s Fratton Park goal drought is down to his side´s African contingent having one eye on national glory - or that his entire team´s confidence has been frozen by failure to perform at home.

Following their 1-0 defeat by Middlesbrough Pompey have now gone nine hours without a Barclays Premier League goal on their own ground - a run of six consecutive games since Sulley Muntari´s 90th-minute penalty completed a 7-4 romp against Reading.

But asked if the quartet players were distracted by international ambitions, Redknapp said: "Not a chance. They have been fantastic, these players. But you need a squad. You´re always looking to improve."
