Benitez eyes long reign

Football News
Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez is hoping to put recent acrimony aside and stay at Anfield for many years to come.

The Spaniard´s relationship with club co-owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett was strained recently following a row over transfers, although clear-the-air talks held after last weekend´s defeat to Manchester United appear to have brought peace to Merseyside.

But despite the recent pressures, the Reds boss is adamant that he will see out the remaining four years of his contract - and then look to stay even longer, telling The Sun: "I´d like to fulfil my contract and extend it, if possible."
