Football News
Liverpool striker Fernando Torres believes the standard of play in the Barclays Premier League is higher than in La Liga.

The 23-year-old joined the Reds this summer in a £20million-plus transfer from Atletico Madrid, and has scored 12 goals in 20 appearances.

Asked to compare his new surroundings with the Spanish game, he told "I would say football in England is better. It is more attractive than football in Spain, I would say, and certainly faster."
