Chelsea will hope to discover on Monday the extent of the ankle injury which could rule captain John Terry out of the hectic festive schedule.

The England skipper left Emirates Stadium on crutches, his right foot in a protective cast, after the 1-0 defeat at the hands of Barclays Premier League leaders Arsenal, which ended the Blues 16-match unbeaten run.

"He is not feeling well, but he didn´t break anything. There is possible damage to his ligament, but we will wait for Monday to see how it is," said Chelsea boss Avram Grant, whose casualty list also includes Ricardo Carvalho, Michael Essien.
