McLeish hopes to raise spirit level

Alex McLeish has vowed to rebuild the confidence of his Birmingham players after launching his reign as Steve Bruce´s successor.

The former Scotland boss is aware how seriously self-belief can be affected after a run of six defeats in seven games has left the Blues hovering just above the relegation zone.

He said: "When you have a run of poor results, it does get to the players. We have to rebuild that confidence and get them to believe in themselves."
