Defenders must do their bit

Juande Ramos has warned his makeshift defence not to rely on the strikeforce at White Hart Lane to fire Tottenham out of trouble.

Spurs edged closer to the knockout stages of the UEFA Cup with a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Aalborg last night when they had to come from two goals behind after a first half described by Ramos as "disastrous".

"The most important thing in the team is balance - and we are imbalanced," he said. "We are conceding too many opportunities and we have to find a solution to this, because we are not going to score three goals in every game. We have to stop the defence leaking goals."
