Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate does not expect to be one of the Barclays Premier League´s big spenders in January.

The 37-year-old, who drafted in the likes of Jonathan Woodgate, Jeremie Aliadiere, Mido, Luke Young, Gary O´Neil and Mohamed Shawky during the summer, with much of his business being offset by Ayegbeni Yakubu´s £11.25million departure to Everton, knows he will not have unlimited funds to spend in January.

Southgate said: "We have to have that discussion as to exactly what we have available. But whether we will have millions to spend, I doubt very much."
