Former Scotland midfielder Graeme Souness admits he would welcome the chance to manage at international level.

The 54-year-old former Newcastle, Liverpool and Rangers boss, who also has European experience from his stints with Galatasaray, Torino and Benfica, could feature on the Scottish Football Association´s short-list as they look to replace Alex McLeish, and could even be an outside bet for the vacant Irish job.

He said on Newcastle´s official website: "I would be interested in taking a national team position. I´ve not been offered either of them so I can´t comment."
