Wigan look to Bruce

Football News
Birmingham manager Steve Bruce has emerged as the leading target to replace Wigan boss Chris Hutchings after an approach by the Lancashire club to their midlands counterparts.

The Latics have approached City for permission to speak to Bruce who is close to marking six years in charge of the St Andrews club.

Blues´ initial reaction was to refuse Wigan permission to speak to the former Manchester United captain - the same stance as they undertook when Bolton wanted him to replace Sammy Lee. But it is understood City´s co-owners David Gold and David Sullivan may alter their stance when they have held further discussions.
