Redknapp withdraws Nigerians

Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp has pulled strikers Kanu and John Utaka out of Nigeria´s friendly against Australia at Craven Cottage on Saturday - but it is not a punishment for the sudden drought that has hit his high-flying side.

Kanu has pulled a hamstring and Utaka has a groin injury, with Redknapp left frustrated again after Sven-Goran Eriksson´s side held on for a point.

Goalkeeper Joe Hart tipped Glen Johnson´s shot against the crossbar and then saw substitute David Nugent´s long-range effort crash away off a post 18 minutes from time, and Redknapp, who had reverted to a 4-4-2 line-up, with Kanu and Benjani forming a dual front-line spearhead, admitted: "It´s amazing. We scored seven against Reading a few weeks ago with just one man up front."
