Toshack targets third

Football News
Wales manager John Toshack still believes his side can clinch third spot in their Euro 2008 qualifying group.

Toshack named his squad on Tuesday for the final group A matches against the Republic of Ireland in Cardiff on November 17 and then in Frankfurt against Germany on November 21 and is confident the side can finish with a flourish.

He said: "We can still do it (finish third) but we are not looking beyond the Republic game which is one we really want to win. It would take us level on 16 with the Republic and if we can do that, it may well be that no other team will get more than 16 points other than the Czechs and the Germans."
