Former Coventry chairman Geoffrey Robinson´s bid to takeover the club has been dealt a blow after Arena Coventry Limited (ACL) described his proposals as "difficult to accept" and "less advantageous" than a rival offer.

Robinson, who resigned from his post as chairman last month when the Sky Blues´ future was thrown into doubt following the withdrawal of five potential investors, is heading one of two consortia with offers on the table to buy the debt-ridden Coca-Cola Championship club.

The other bidder is believed to be former footballer Ray Ranson but this has not been confirmed by either party.
