Coca-Cola League One side Gillingham have appointed former Stevenage manager Mark Stimson as their new boss.

Stimson, 39, resigned from the Blue Square Premier club on October 17 and had also been linked with the vacancies at Port Vale and Millwall, but has now penned a three-and-a-half year contract with the Kent club.

The Gills are currently 18th in League One and have been without a permanent manager since Ronnie Jepson resigned on September 9.
