Middlesbrough manager Gareth Southgate has confirmed striker Jeremie Aliadiere is not suffering from another hamstring strain.

The former Arsenal forward was out with a hamstring complaint for over a month before returning to the Boro side in the 4-1 defeat to Manchester United and the signs were not good when Southgate replaced the Frenchman soon after half-time with what looked like a similar problem.

But the former England centre-half told the club´s website "He just had cramp. We were very conscious with him having been out for six weeks, we knew he wouldn´t last 90 minutes. We hoped he could give us an hour and we got 55 minutes out of him."
