Gunners record turnover boom

Arsenal´s turnover increased to more than £200million for the year ending May 31, 2007 - with group operating profits up by an astonishing 274%, to £51.2 million, the parent company of the Barclays Premier club have announced.

The move to the 60,000-seater Emirates Stadium helped Arsenal generate match day revenues of £90.6m in their first season, representing some £3.1m-per-game - which was more than double that of Highbury.

Commenting on the figures, Arsenal chairman Peter Hill-Wood said: "The best way that Arsenal can continue to deliver success is by maintaining a business that pays its own way."
