Walsall apprentice dies in training

Walsall have announced that 16-year-old apprentice Anton Reid died during a training session on Monday morning.

The striker collapsed during a training session at the University of Aston but no details of a cause of death have yet been made public.

A club statement said: "It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of one of our young apprentice players, Anton Reid. Players and staff have been left heartbroken by this terrible tragedy."
