January 2013 promises to be the transfer window of opportunity for Premier League clubs, that will once and for all quash the claim that you can't find value for money in the mid-season market.

Numerous players from Europe's top five leagues are going to be available at knockdown prices, having either entered the final few months of their existing contracts, or been identified by their employers as luxuries they can ill-afford.

More and more clubs from all corners of the continent are looking to alleviate their crippling wage bills with FIFA's impending Financial Fair Play ruling on the horizon, that threatens to change the football landscape forever.

On the other hand, the New Year also represents the last-chance saloon for clubs looking to negotiate one final big-money move, or that last major, marquee signing.

Manchester City and Chelsea have led the way in terms of money spent over the past few seasons, with the Russian roubles of Roman Abramovich, and the Abu Dhabi dollars of Sheikh Mansour, propelling the Premier League to the top of the football pyramid, cementing its place as the most attractive, and exciting domestic league in Europe.

Manchester United are still widely regarded as one of the biggest clubs in world football, while the likes of Tottenham and even Arsenal are now being forced to spend in the market as they look to break into, or retain their place amongst the top four, with the lucrative chance of Champions League participation an offer too good to turn down.

As a result, even those players at the higher end of the transfer market are likely to prove a sound business investment providing they can help ensure European football for the country's leading clubs.

Here, GiveMeFootball - with the help of, and valuations taken from the Daily Mail - brings you five of the biggest names that could be arriving in the Premier League in January…
