Sven-Goran Eriksson roared back into English football with a stylish 2-0 win at West Ham as Manchester City´s new manager - in which two of his eight summer signings scored the goals.

The former England coach saw big Italian striker Rolando Bianchi, his top buy at £8.8 million, stab in a far-post cross by £8million Brazilian Elano for an 18th-minute lead.

And it was another boy from Brazil, free transfer Geovanni, who wrapped up the points three minutes from time, cracking home a cross from fellow substitute Nedum Onuoha.
