Barcelona are set to complete the signing of Brazilian wonderkid Cassiano Bouzon, according to reports in South America.
The 11-year-old prodigy, who currently plays for local club Bahia back in his homeland, came to the attention of the Spanish giants after a video was posted on YouTube of the youngster showcasing his skills in a youth team game.
Bouzon was invited to Europe for a three-week trial with one of Barcelona's feeder clubs, Cornella, and after shining again during his recent audition, rumours are now rife that the talented left-back will be snapped up by the Catalan club.
"I play with the ball glued to my feet," Bouzon told reporters as he touched down in Brazil after impressing Barcelona. "I dribble a lot, [and] I'm fast."
Despite his tender years, the defender has shown incredible ability and skill with the ball, which has helped him overcome his lack of height and physique compared with other players his age, much in the way that Lionel Messi did, and to a certain degree still does today.
Barca will have to wait until Bouzon turns 18 before they can tie him to a professional contract at the Camp Nou, though. And, in the meantime, the youngster looks set to sign for Brasileiro outift Fluminense to continue his development in his homeland.
"Barcelona made me very comfortable to review the proposal," explained Bouzon's father, and former footballer Tiquinho. "Doors not closed, he can go there when you are at 13, 14 years.
"But now we have decided, he'll be here at Fluminense. On day 4 or 5 January I will be in Rio de Janeiro to sign the contract."
