Football News

The year 2012 is nearing its end and the reviews are on their way – GMF is no different, so we’ve scoured the highlight reels to discover the best goals from around Europe.

Yes, GMF realises it isn’t quite the end of the year just yet, but if you’re a believer in the Mayan Calendar there isn’t a lot of time left.

GMF is not a site that readily dismisses the foretelling of doomsday from an extinct civilisation so we thought we’d get in early. Besides, we’re not sure if online video hosting sites will work after the apocalypse.

Anyway, we searched long and hard for the most impressive golazos from outside of the Premier League, but within the confines of Europe.

By that we mean any domestic league around the continent and any UEFA competition, just so there’s no confusion.

There was no set of strict rules to govern what type of goals could be chosen, they just had to make the GMF team purr with delight.

We also understand you may disagree with some or, more likely, all of our choices, so we want you to get into the comments section to tell us what you think of them and which have bee your favourites.

Here they are, GMF’s Top Five European Goals of 2012:

Cristiano Ronaldo v Osasuna, March 31

Mario Balotelli v Germany, June 28

Martin Jiranek v Kuban Krasnodar, September 29

Taison v Rosenborg, November 8

Zlatan Ibrahimovic v England, November 14

There you have them, the best of 2012 from around Europe – join the debate below…
