Aston Villa manager Martin O´Neill insists he has had "no conversations" with midfielder Shaun Maloney or Celtic about a possible return to The Bhoys.

Maloney is being linked with a quickfire move back to his former club and O´Neill admitted the Scotland international had at one stage been homesick but is adamant he has had no contact with the player or Celtic although he will talk to Maloney to see if he is unsettled at the club.

O´Neill said: "I´ve been alerted to a story which says there are advanced negotiations with Celtic about Shaun. That is not true. I have not spoken to Shaun about this. I will speak to him if it is necessary. But Celtic have not been in touch with me about Shaun. It is news to me."
