New Manchester City owner Thaksin Shinawatra intends to hang around Eastlands for quite a while yet according to his legal advisor.

The former Thailand Prime Minister is facing new questions about his time in office following a BBC Radio Five Live documentary in which leading human rights organisations Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International questioned his conduct.

But his lawyer Noppadol Pattama insists no matter what happens in Thailand, Thaksin´s involvement with City will be a long-lasting affair, saying: "Dr Thaksin will be at Manchester City for a long time. Five years or even longer. It is not a quick investment and he is not trying to make a quick buck."
