Sorensen suffers hamstring blow

Football News
Aston Villa goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen has suffered a hamstring injury with the start of the new Barclays Premier League season only just over two weeks away.

The Villa number one pulled up as he took a goal-kick in the 35th minute of the match with Toronto FC on Wednesday night as part of Villa´s pre-season tour of Canada and North America, and he was clearly in considerable discomfort as he limped out of the action.

Now the Dane could be a doubt for the Premier League opener with Liverpool on August 11, as boss Martin O´Neill confirmed: "Thomas has got a hamstring problem. At the moment I couldn´t tell you how badly he´s injured."
